Crypto data tracking website CoinMarketCap is preparing to premiere a reality TV series titled “Killer Whales” in conjunction with Hello Labs, a Web3 entertainment platform. The anticipated show will have the same premise as the famous investing program “Shark Tank,” where millionaires listen to startup pitches and invest in the companies they find promising.
In a recent update, Hello Labs stated that “Killer Whales” would include prominent crypto founders, entrepreneurs and influencers such as Champ Medici, Altcoin Daily and the Hello Labs team. Startups in the cryptocurrency space hoping to get funding and advice for navigating the Web3 business climate will present their pitches to five industry titans known as whales.
Sander Gortjes, Hello Labs CEO, stated that the show aims to introduce the next billion users to Web3 by enlightening and engaging them about everything related to cryptocurrency. CoinMarketCap chief marketing officer Jonathan Isaac described the “Killer Whale” program as an exciting chance to bring the Web3 sector’s entrepreneurial energy to homes worldwide.
Applications can be submitted to CoinMarketCap and Hello.one starting May 2, 2023, by interested businesses and individuals. Those chosen will participate in a series of Hollywood interviews. The show will begin production in June and be broadcast on Hello TV in addition to major streaming platforms.

Other Web3 communities are also exploring the utilization of intellectual property across different media, with NounsDAO weighing in on the idea of a full-length film and television series. The NFT collection Doodles also recently bought the Golden Wolf animation studio and announced ambitions to grow the Doodles brand through the use of narrative storytelling.
